Each night, Eye on Basketball brings you what you need to know about the games of the NBA. From great performances to terrible clock management the report card evaluates and eviscerates the good, the bad, and the ugly from the night that was.

Minnesota Timberwolves
 Down 22 points in the third quarter on the road without your two best players? No big deal when you have Alexey Shved, Chase Budginer and Nikola Pekovic! Shved was dynamic in creating good looks and drilling 3s, Budinger knocked down shots and Pekovic finished with 21 big points. And Andrei Kirilenko filled the statsheet with points, rebounds and assists. The Wolves outscored Brooklyn 32-10 in the fourth quarter, engineering a 33-point second half swing.
New York Knicks
 The Knicks are 3-0 and sitting in sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Division. That has not happened in quite a long time. They looked terrific in dismantling the 76ers, playing tremendous defense (held Philly to 33.7 percent shooting) and executing on offense. The balanced scoring the Knicks are getting makes them dangerous. But it's the defense that could make them an actual contender. 
Rudy Gay
 Weird game for Gay tonight: He finished with 15 points in a Grizzlies win, but went just 3-of-17 and was the only minus for Memphis (-2). But his team won, which is good news.
Philadelphia 76ers
 Take away Thaddeus Young (7-12) and Kwame Brown (2-3) and the 76ers made only 20-of-71 from the floor. That's 28 percent. They shot 33.7 percent with those two players so it's not like it's that much better. It's honestly kind of amazing they scored 88 points.
Brooklyn Nets
 Blowing a second half lead at home is a bad thing. Doing it when up 22 in the third playing a team without their two best players? Criminal. Especially when you do it in the second ever game in your new expensive arena and excited new city. The failure to execute or defend in the fourth quarter was simply embarassing. It's one thing to allow 32 points in the fourth, but scoring only 10? It was almost as if the Nets assumed they had already won and put it on cruise control.
