Two teams familiar with each other in recent postseasons will square off on Tuesday, Jan. 20 as the Los Angeles Lakers visit the Mile High City to take on the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers and Nuggets have met three times in the last six postseasons, with Los Angeles winning in the Orlando bubble while Denver has taken the last two playoff series. Both squads are contenders in a loaded Western Conference as L.A. sits at 25-16 and Denver is slightly better at 29-14.

Austin Reaves remains sidelined for the Lakers, while Denver is without Nikola Jokic, Cam Johnson, Jonas Valanciunas and Christian Braun. Jamal Murray, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Aaron Gordon are all probable for the Nuggets. With those injuries in mind, here's a three-leg same-game parlay for Lakers vs. Nuggets on Tuesday, with recommendations from the SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every NBA game 10,000 times. Lakers vs. Nuggets NBA same-game parlay picks

  • Lakers money line
  • Luka Doncic Over 48.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
  • Jamal Murray Under 27.5 Points

Lakers money line

Not only do the Nuggets have a host of injuries, but they've also slipped a bit since Jokic went out. The Lakers haven't exactly been on a hot streak either as they've played .500 basketball over the last 10 games, but they do have a knack for winning on the road. L.A. is 13-8 away from home this season and Denver is just 12-7 at Ball Arena. The Lakers win in 62% of model simulations.

Luka Doncic Over 48.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

The model has Doncic projected for 47.4 PRA, but we're going to lean the opposite way for this particular prop. The Lakers guard has maintained his elite scoring (32.8 ppg in January) but simply hasn't been able to get as many rebounds or assists as he usually does with LeBron James back in the lineup. However, the Nuggets are missing their top two big men on the interior and that means more boards available for Doncic. He's effectively a lock to get 30+ points, and I believe this is a favorable matchup to log double-digit rebounds, so I'll back the Over here.

Jamal Murray Under 27.5 points

Murray is projected for 27.2 points, but he's really struggled against middle-third NBA defenses at home. In his last five matchups against such defenses, he's averaged just 15.6 points per game and gone Under his points prop line four times. Add in the additional attention from L.A.'s top defenders since Jokic and Johnson are out and you've got a game where Murray is more contained. He's burned the Lakers plenty of times and is an All-Star this season but he's likely to be more muted in Tuesday's game.
