After missing virtually all of last season with foot problems, it's a scary thing when Brook Lopez is forced to sit because of it.
But this time, it's supposedly a minor issue.
The Nets announced Lopez will miss the team's next two games with a mild right foot sprain. X-rays were negative.
The Nets next two games are against the Magic and the Heat. Not having him for the showdown against Miami certainly will hurt.
Lopez is currently the team's leading scorer at 18.5 points per game and has improved a bit on the glass, averaging 6.7 rebounds a game.
Officially on the depth chart, Andray Blatche is listed as the backup center, but it's likely Kris Humphries will start at the 5 and Blatche or Reggie Evans play power forward.
But there is the fact that Humphries could be serving a nice little suspension for his altercation with Rajon Rondo Wednesday. So it might just be all Blatche who gets the call after all.
