Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic turned an ankle last week and has been a part of the Wolves' MASH unit since then. But he could be on the mend in time for their game Wednesday vs. Denver, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports:
Nikola Pekovic was back on the floor participating fully, and Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio participated in 5-on-0 offensive walkthroughs for the first time.
Pekovic said he felt a little pain Sunday, but sounded like he is ready to play Wednesday against Denver.
The Wolves need a lot of guys back: Pekovic, Rubio, Love, Brandon Roy and Jose Juan Barea. But Pekovic will give them both scoring and rebounding in addition to defense. He's as important as any player who isn't Love, and he was a big part of why the team had managed to win despite the rest of those injuries before this week's troubles.
Getting Pek back would be a great start toward getting this team healthy with Rubio and Love expected back sometime in December.
