The Charlotte Bobcats have re-engaged in discussions to acquire power forward Kris Humphries, according to the Charlotte Observer.
The likely scenario would be a sign-and-trade with the Nets, thus opening a trade exception to potentially use on a player like Antawn Jamison later.
Humphries was part of four-team trade talks that would've sent him either to Charlotte, or Cleveland. Humphries is an unrestricted free agent and is looking for a multi-year deal.
The Bobcats are looking to stock talent anywhere, especially inside. The team needs big man depth with only D.J. White, Tyrus Thomas and Bismack Biyombo on the roster at that position.
Humphries, 27, has emerged as a nightly double-double threat averaging 13.8 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for the Nets last season.
