First he was going to the Lakers, then that vanished into the ether. Now, new hope emerges for the basketball cultural icon that is Rasheed Wallace to make his return.
From ESPN:
NBA news: Rasheed Wallace working out at NYK practice facility w/Camby and Kurt Thomas. Knicks' considering.

So let's take a second and think of a bench frontline featuring Marcus Camby, Kurt Thomas, and Rasheed Wallace. Now consider how great that would be in 2008.
It's doubtful that the 38-year-old would decide to come back when he would have a hard time getting into condition and getting floor time. It's a veteran team, with a lot of guys from his "generation" or whatever, but it's hard to give up your time once you've had the chance to be free.
But as fun as this season is, having Sheed around would be so much better. The NBA, nay, sports, nay, the world needs more Sheed. A better alternative would be for Detroit, Brooklyn or Boston to hire him for a media position. It would be the single greatest daily thing in NBA media.
