Ben Wallace has spoken heavily about the possibility of his retirement after this season, but has also hedged a lot throughout the year given how healthy he's been, comparatively. Just to be sure, the Pistons celebrated his last game of the season with a commemorative video and it was an emotional night, to be sure

But all the emotions might have been for naught, since Tayshaun Prince, speaking on NBATV as transcirbed by the Detroit Free Press says that Wallace is on the fence about retirement:

"I think it is a situation where he is still thinking about it," Prince said. "One side is telling him it is time to spend time with the family and relax a little bit, and then the other side is saying I still have more left in the tank.

It's always a trick for athletes to figure out when exactly they're "done." Wallace is still able to rebound and defend effectively, and the Pistons are headed in the right direction (after a horrendous start they finished 21-22 from February on). That might be enough for him to come back. But if he decides he's had enough, he'll walk away with a championship ring and as a Detroit icon. Not bad for a career.
