Back when the Oklahoma City Thunder drafted Perry Jones III out of Baylor with the 28th pick in the first round of the 2012 draft, the reason for why he dropped so low in the draft was believed to be a bad medical report on his knees. Some team doctors reportedly believed Jones' knees would only hold up for three or four years in the NBA. They had been red flagged and it caused him to drop.
After completing his second season in the NBA, Jones had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. It was a planned procedure and the forward is expected to miss 4-6 weeks as he recovers from the operation.

Jones' issue with his knees were meniscus related back in 2012. He's been relatively healthy in his two seasons with the Thunder, earning a more extensive role this past season. In 62 games, Jones averaged 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.3 minutes of play. In his rookie season, he played in just 38 games and averaged only 7.4 minutes.
