When trades go down, we always think about how it impacts the teams and players involved. We always forget about the little people, like the Tayshaun Prince fans.
They might not be of great number, but nobody can question their loyalty. Take this poor soul from Wednesday night's Pistons game in Indianapolis who diligently awaited the appearance of his favorite player. Alas, Prince was nowhere to be found because he had been traded to Memphis just hours before.
This fan didn't know. So he started investigating, checking his phone and then making a call. Only to hear the bad news: Tayshaun Prince has been traded. To which he immediately pulled off his jersey and tossed it under his seat. Understandable disappointment. Prince spent 11 seasons in Detroit and was the last remaining player from the roster that brought home a title in 2004.
I'm pretty sure this whole sequence is maybe one of the saddest moments that I've ever seen in sports. From him hanging over the rail to see his favorite player to the crushing moment that he learns Prince is gone forever.
