Hunter (illness) had 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, two steals and one assist over 19 minutes in Friday's G League loss to Fort Wayne.
Hunter missed Saturday's win as a result of an illness, but he wasn't forced to sit out any further contests as he was able to return to the court against the Mad Ants. The 26-year-old's production has been boosted by back-to-back games with two conversions on shots from beyond the arc, but his overall impact has been limited as he's averaging 7.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

R.J. Hunter: Heads to Turkey
Hunter signed a one-year contract with Turkish club Turk Telekom B.K. in late June, Jay King and Jared Weiss of The Athletic report.
A 2015 first-round selection by the Celtics in 2015, Hunter made it only one year into his rookie deal before Boston cut him prior to the 2016-17 season. He's since bounced around to Bulls, Rockets, Hawks and back to the Celtics over the past three years, playing nine games in total at the NBA level over that stretch. Rather than settling on a training-camp deal or two-way contract stateside, Hunter will head overseas to Turkey, where he'll presumably receive a more lucrative payday.

Celtics' R.J. Hunter: Drills four treys
Hunter tallied 17 points (6-13 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and a steal over 26 minutes Tuesday against the Wizards.
Hunter got a chance for extended minutes with the Celtics electing to rest the good majority of their rotation players in the season finale, and he made the most of his opportunities. He finished the contest tied for the team lead in points and contributed across the board in a 116-110 victory. Unfortunately for the Georgia State product, he's unlikely to see much, if any, playing time in the postseason.

Saturday marked Hunter's season debut with the Red Claws. It was Hunters first game for Maine since the 2015-16 season. The outside shooter fills the two-way contract void created by the surprise release of Walt Lemon Jr. back in November. Earlier this season, Hunter played 22 games for Erie, averaging 22 points, 2.0 steals, and 3.3 made threes per game.

Hunter is signing a two-way contract with the Celtics on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The former first-round pick will look to get another chance with the Celtics, who originally drafted him out of Georgia State in 2015. Hunter will probably see a majority of the season in the G League however, with an occasional call-up likely.

Hunter posted 34 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals over 34 minutes in Friday's game against Grand Rapids.
Hunter started the game and quickly asserted himself as one of the most talented players on the team. While Friday's 34-point outburst shouldn't be a routine occurrence, the former Georgia State standout likely has a productive season ahead of him.

The Hawks opted to waive Hunter on Saturday.

R.J. Hunter: Let go by Houston
Hunter was waived by the Rockets on Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Hunter has struggled to find NBA run since being drafted 28th overall by the Celtics in 2015. Over the past two years, he's appeared in eight NBA games, spending most of his time in the G-League. However, despite averaging just over 20 points per game for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets' G-League affiliate, the organization apparently didn't feel he was worth the investment.

Rockets' R.J. Hunter: Averaging 14.0 PPG through two summer league games
Hunter had a game-high 24 points (8-14 FG, 5-11 3PT, 3-3 FT) in Sunday's summer league win over the Warriors.
Hunter was quiet in Houston's first contest, but he got things going from beyond the arc Sunday, connective on five three-pointers in 25 minutes of action. The former Georgia State standout is the definition of a score-first guard, and he added just one rebound, one assist and one steal to his 24 points Sunday.

Rockets' R.J. Hunter: Excels in rare opportunity
Hunter netted 19 points (7-16 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added four rebounds, two steals and one assist across 30 minutes in a 96-83 loss to the Kings on Wednesday.
After having spent the majority of his season in the G-League, Hunter got to run with the first unit in the finale with the Rockets resting all of their front-line players. The 24-year-old posted a slew of career highs with the extended opportunity, but he's highly likely to be left out of the postseason rotation altogether.

Rockets' R.J. Hunter: Starting final game of regular season
Hunter has been promoted to the starting five for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Kings, Rockets play-by-play announcer Craig Ackerman reports.
Hunter has seen action in just four games for the Rockets this season, spending most of the year in the G-League with the team's affiliate. However, with Houston sitting eight players in the regular-season finale for rest ahead of the playoffs, Hunter will get the call with top unit and should be slated for a monster workload. Look for the third-year guard to see all the minutes he can handle, giving him temporary viability in fantasy contests for the time being.
