  • Cavaliers' Dennis Schroder: Set for Wednesday debut

Schroder isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Clippers. Schroder appears ready for his Cleveland debut after being traded by the Kings on Saturday. It remains to be seen how large of a role he'll take on with his new squad, especially with James Harden (personal) uncertain to play Wednesday after being acquired by the Cavaliers on Tuesday in exchange for Darius Garland (toe) and a second-round pick.

  • Cavaliers' Dennis Schroder: Won't make team debut Sunday

Schroder (recently traded) is expected to meet the Cavaliers in Los Angeles for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Schroder, who was traded from the Kings to the Cavaliers on Saturday, is expected to join the team at the next stop of its road trip, putting him on track to make his franchise debut Wednesday against the Clippers. In 40 games (14 starts) with Sacramento this season, the veteran guard averaged 12.8 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 40.8 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three. Schroder projects as a long-term reserve for Cleveland but could receive short-term starting consideration until Darius Garland (toe) returns.

  • Cavaliers' Dennis Schroder: Traded to Cleveland

Schroder was traded to Cleveland from Sacramento along with Keon Ellis in exchange for De'Andre Hunter on Saturday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. The Cavaliers have been looking to bolster their backcourt depth due to Darius Garland (foot) struggling to stay healthy. And given Lonzo Ball's struggles this season, Schroder figures to step into a sizable role right away. Until Garland gets the green light to return, Schroder could log some fill-in starts as well. When he was with the Kings, Schroder lost his starting job to Russell Westbrook and produced averages of 12.8 points and 5.3 assists in 26.4 minutes per contest. With this trade pending, it's not clear when Schroder will debut for his new team.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Season-high 27 points in spot start

Schroder posted 27 points (9-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 31 minutes during the Kings' 113-111 loss to the 76ers on Thursday. Schroder got the start Thursday in the absence of Russell Westbrook (foot), and the former responded by recording a season high in points. It was Schroder's eighth 20-plus point performance of the season, and he could remain in the starting lineup for the second leg of the Kings' back-to-back set Friday against the Celtics if Westbrook is not cleared to play. Schroder has averaged 16.6 points, 4.0 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 threes over 26.0 minutes per game over his last five outings.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Enters starting five

Schroder is starting Thursday's game against the 76ers, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Schroder will step into the starting five with Russell Westbrook (foot) ruled out Thursday. This marks Schroder's first start since Nov. 12. The guard began the season in a starting role for the Kings, averaging 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals in his first 12 appearances of the 2025-26 campaign, all starts.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Chips in 21 points off bench

Schroder produced 21 points (6-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds and four assists over 31 minutes during Friday's 123-118 loss to the Cavaliers. Most of the Kings' starters struggled from the field during Friday's loss, but Schroder, Domantas Sabonis (24 points) and Malik Monk (16 points) all stepped up to help keep Sacramento competitive during the loss. It was Schroder's seventh 20-plus-point game of the season and first since Dec. 21 against the Rockets (24 points). The veteran point guard has averaged 12.7 points, 4.3 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 threes over 23.2 minutes per game over his last 10 outings.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Strong line in 20 minutes

Schroder recorded 16 points (5-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound and three assists in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 122-109 loss to the Raptors. This was a strong showing for Schroder, but lines like these have been few and far between. Over his last five outings, the veteran guard holds averages of 10.4 points, 3.2 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 three-pointers. The Kings could be sellers at the trade deadline, so Schroder could see a role change in the near future, for better or for worse.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Suspended three games

Schroder has been suspended for three games for "confronting and attempting to strike another player," Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports. Schroder got into an altercation with an opposing player in an arena hallway following the Kings' loss to the Lakers on Dec. 28. Now, he'll be sidelined for Sacramento's next three outings, and the veteran point guard's next opportunity to play will come Friday against the Wizards. In the meantime, Keon Ellis, Nique Clifford and Malik Monk are candidates for increased playing time.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Hands out nine dimes in 26 minutes

Schroder finished with 11 points (4-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-7 FT), one rebound, nine assists and one steal across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 100-98 loss to the Mavericks. Schroder struggled to get his three-point shot to drop in this one, going 0-for-3 from distance, and he also finished an uncharacteristic 3-for-7 at the charity stripe. However, he did a nice job with his playmaking and committed one turnover in his 26 minutes of floor time. Schroder is averaging 12.9 points, 5.8 assists and 1.5 triples per game this season.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Adds 18 points off bench

Schroder notched 18 points (7-12 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and seven assists over 28 minutes during Thursday's 120-106 loss to the Celtics. Schroder led the Sacramento bench with 18 points by posting an efficient shooting line. He's been a consistent source of scoring for the Kings of late, as he's now put up 10 or more points in seven straight matchups. Schroder is averaging 15.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 25.1 minutes over this impressive stretch.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Team-high seven assists Sunday

Schroder ended with 11 points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals across 19 minutes during Sunday's 125-101 loss to the Lakers. Although Schroder remains stuck in a bench role, he's providing solid fantasy value behind Russell Westbrook. Schroder has averaged 14.1 points, 5.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 24.4 minutes per contest over his last seven games.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Hits game-winner in OT

Schroder totaled 24 points (7-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds and 10 assists over 32 minutes during Sunday's 125-124 overtime win over Houston. Schroder sank a three-pointer with two seconds left to give the Kings the win in an overtime thriller. Despite coming off the bench, Schroder has averaged a solid 27.5 minutes per game since returning from an ankle injury. Russell Westbrook took over at point guard during the absence, and although a switch isn't expected, Schroder is making a case to get his old job back.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Logs team-high 21 points from bench

Schroder supplied 21 points (6-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Saturday's 98-93 loss to Portland. Russell Westbrook endured a rocky start to the game, making an early entrance for Schroder a necessity. Although Westbrook logged 30 minutes, the Kings ran with the hot hand and gave Schroder his highest minute total since his seven-game absence. Although Westbrook's job appears safe, we may continue to see the rotation favor a combo of the two veterans in the backcourt, especially during periods when Zach LaVine (ankle) is out or on the bench. Malik Monk has also been excluded from the rotation in two straight games, despite being healthy.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Green light to play Thursday

Schroder (ankle) is available for Thursday's game against Portland, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports. Schroder was cleared to return Sunday against the Timberwolves after missing the seven games prior due to a hip injury. He drew the questionable tag for Thursday's game due to a sprained right ankle, but his newest injury isn't severe enough for him to be sidelined. Schroder is averaging 12.6 points, 5.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 threes over 28.9 minutes per game this season.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Questionable for Thursday

Schroder is questionable for Thursday's game in Portland due to a right ankle sprain. Schroder must have tweaked his ankle during Sunday's loss to the Timberwolves, but we'll have a better idea of his status based on his activity level at Thursday's shootaround. If Schroder is forced to the sideline, Devin Carter might be able to get into the rotation.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Strong scoring off bench in return

Schroder (hip) registered 17 points (5-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three assists and one rebound across 25 minutes Sunday in the Kings' 117-103 loss to the Timberwolves. Schroder made his return to action Sunday after missing Sacramento's previous seven games due to a right hip flexor strain. While Russell Westbrook retained starting duties at point guard, Schroder was still able to overlap with him a bit due to Zach LaVine exiting due to a left ankle injury after playing just 16 minutes. Nique Clifford ended up opening the second half with the starting five in LaVine's stead, but Schroder and fellow reserve guard Malik Monk would likely continue to see notable spikes in playing time if LaVine isn't available for the Kings' next game Thursday in Portland.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Available to play

Schroder (hip) is available for Sunday's game in Minnesota, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports. Schroder is set to return from a seven-game absence Sunday, so don't be surprised if he's operating with some minutes restrictions. With Schroder back in the rotation, Devin Carter could be headed for a DNP-CD.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Now questionable

Schroder (hip) has been upgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against Minnesota. Schroder was initially deemed doubtful for the contest, but it now looks like he'll have a legitimate chance at returning from a seven-game absence. Malik Monk, Nique Clifford and Keon Ellis have handled larger roles while Schroder has been sidelined with the right hip strain.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Doubtful for Sunday

Schroder (hip) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves. Schroder is expected to miss his eighth straight game due to a right hip flexor strain. With the veteran point guard likely to miss Sunday's contest, Nique Clifford and Malik Monk are candidates for increased playing time, especially if Keon Ellis (wrist) is downgraded from questionable to out.

  • Kings' Dennis Schroder: Won't play Thursday

Schroder (hip) will not play Thursday against Denver. No surprise here, as Schroder was previously considered doubtful. His next chance to play comes Sunday against Minnesota.
