Vincent will make his second start of the 2024-25 regular season Friday as he replaces D'Angelo Russell in the Lakers' starting lineup. In his first start, Vincent registered 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal over 31 minutes against the Jazz this past Sunday.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Retreating to bench Monday

Vincent is not in the Lakers' starting lineup for Monday's game against the Timberwolves, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.

Vincent made his first start of the 2024-25 regular season Sunday against the Jazz due to multiple Lakers players being sidelined with injuries, and across 31 minutes he logged 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal. After missing Sunday's game due to an illness, D'Angelo Russell will enter Monday's starting lineup while Vincent comes off the bench.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Fares well as starter

Vincent ended Sunday's 105-104 victory over the Jazz with 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 31 minutes.

Making his first start of the campaign, Vincent held his own due to Austin Reaves (pelvis), Cam Reddish (illness) and D'Angelo Russell (illness) all being sidelined. It's no secret that Vincent has had a tough season so far, but maybe he can build some confidence after this strong performance. He's a dicey fantasy option when the Lakers are healthy, to be clear.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Gets starting nod Sunday

Vincent will enter the starting lineup in Sunday's matchup against Utah, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 28-year-old will enter the starting five for the first time this season with Austin Reaves (pelvis), Cam Reddish (illness) and D'Angelo Russell (illness) all sidelined. In his last five outings off the bench, Vincent averaged 2.4 points while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor across only 12.6 minutes per game.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Inefficient in victory

Vincent contributed two points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists over 21 minutes during Friday's 131-125 win over the Raptors.

Vincent went just 1-of-6 from the field, continuing his underwhelming start to the season. While it is great to see him healthy and back on the court after missing the majority of last season due to injury, Vincent's real-life impact is far greater than his statistical production would lead you to believe. At this stage, he would need an injury to D'Angelo Russell to have any chance at converting playing time into tangible numbers.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Good to go for training camp

General manager Rob Pelinka said Wednesday that Vincent (knee) is medically cleared to begin training camp, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.

After carving out a role for himself in Miami, Vincent joined the Lakers last offseason and was expected to be a key rotational piece. However, injuries derailed that plan, as the undrafted guard out of UC Santa Barbara made only 11 regular-season appearances due to a lingering knee issue. While Vincent is healthy again, he'll have to compete for playing time with fellow backups Bronny James, Max Christie and Jalen Hood-Schifino.
