  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Won't start Monday

Hauser won't start against the Pacers on Monday, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports. The sharpshooter started Saturday's win over Toronto but will slide back to the second unit, as starter Jaylen Brown (illness) is back in action. Across eight appearances (two starts) in December, Hauser has averaged 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 21.0 minutes per tilt.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Entering first unit

Hauser will start Saturday's game against the Raptors, Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reports. Hauser will fill in for the absent Jaylen Brown (illness). It'll be Hauser's fifth start of the season. In his first four starts, Hauser averaged 9.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists while knocking down an average of 2.8 three-pointers.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Drains five triples off bench

Hauser collected 15 points (5-6 FG, 5-6 3Pt), four rebounds and three assists over 25 minutes during the Celtics' 129-116 win over the Heat on Friday. Hauser came alive in the fourth quarter with four triples, and his efforts from deep helped the Celtics snap a two-game losing skid. His 15 points and five made triples were his most since Oct. 29 against the Cavaliers (21 points while going 7-for-13 from deep). Hauser doesn't provide much fantasy value outside of his contributions from beyond the arc.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Good to go Friday

Hauser (ankle) will play Friday against the Heat, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Hauser was able to shed his probable tag after picking up this injury Monday. Over his last four games, Hauser is averaging 5.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 three-pointers in 19.2 minutes per contest.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Probable for Friday

Hauser (ankle) is probable for Friday's game against the Heat, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Despite tweaking his ankle Monday against the Pistons, Hauser is expected to be in the rotation Friday. That will be the first game of a back-to-back set, so the Celtics could monitor him closely.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Doesn't return Monday

Hauser (ankle) failed to return to Monday's game against the Pistons. He didn't score (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in four minutes before exiting. Hauser departed the contest in the first half after suffering an ankle injury and was held out the rest of the way. It's safe to consider him day-to-day until the team has more information to share on Hauser's availability going forward.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Questionable to return

Hauser is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Pistons due to a left ankle sprain, Brian Robb of MassLive.com reports. Hauser limped off the court during the second quarter, and his return is now in doubt. He missed his lone shot in four minutes prior to exiting.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Exits to locker room

Hauser exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent left ankle injury in the second quarter of Monday's game against the Pistons, Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reports. Hauser briefly remained in the game before eventually limping back to the locker room with 9:47 remaining in the second. If the forward is unable to return, Josh Minott and Hugo Gonzalez are candidates for increased minutes the rest of the way.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Sliding to second unit

Hauser won't start against the Lakers on Friday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. With Jaylen Brown returning from a one-game absence due to an illness, Hauser will slide back to the second unit. Over his last five games off the bench, the 27-year-old forward has averaged 7.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 21.4 minutes per contest.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Joining first unit

Hauser will start Thursday against the Wizards. Hauser is filling the void left behind by the ailing Jaylen Brown (illness) on Thursday. Hauser has averaged 11.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists 3.0 three-pointers in 28.4 minutes per contest over three games as a starter this season.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Not starting Tuesday

Hauser won't start against the Knicks on Tuesday, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports. Hauser got the starting nod in Sunday's win over Cleveland, though he'll slide to the second unit with Derrick White (calf) back in action. Over his last five appearances off the bench, Hauser has averaged 8.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 22.0 minutes per contest.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Somewhat productive in win

Hauser finished with eight points (3-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 113-99 victory over the Nets. Hauser cobbled together a serviceable performance, highlighting just how much of a struggle it has been for him thus far. While he has been able to maintain a regular spot in the rotation, his playing time typically fluctuates from one game to the next. In seven appearances over the past two weeks, Hauser has averaged 3.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in 19.0 minutes per game.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Available vs. Philadelphia

Hauser (wrist) is available for Tuesday's game against the 76ers, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Hauser will play through a sprained wrist. The sharpshooter should be able to handle his normal workload. Hauser is a solid source of triples for fantasy managers, having averaged 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.4 three-pointers in 22.7 minutes per contest in 11 games this season.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Invisible in loss Monday

Hauser closed with four points (1-8 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block in 28 minutes during Monday's 105-103 loss to the Jazz. Hauser offered very little in the loss, despite playing a season-high 28 minutes. As a player whose value, both in fantasy and reality, is built around his ability to hit the three-ball, Hauser has struggled to be a consistent asset thus far. Through eight games, he is averaging just 9.6 points and 3.0 three-pointers in 23.7 minutes per game.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Catches fire from deep

Hauser finished Friday's 105-95 loss to the Knicks with 18 points (6-10 FG, 6-10 3Pt), three rebounds, one steal and one block over 28 minutes. Hauser had a quiet performance Opening Night against Philadelphia, but the fifth-year pro showed his sharpshooting prowess Friday, when he connected on a game-high six triples for the sixth time in his NBA career. Hauser should continue to operate as a catch-and-shoot wing for the Celtics, though he should see an uptick in opportunities on offense this season in the absence of Jayson Tatum (Achilles).

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Off injury report for Wednesday

Hauser (rest) is not on the injury report for Wednesday's season opener against Philadelphia, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. After sitting out Boston's preseason finale, Hauser is lined up to return for the season opener. With Jayson Tatum (Achilles) expected to miss most of the year, Hauser has a big opportunity in 2025-26. Over 19 games as a starter in the 2024-25 regular season, Hauser averaged 12.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 3.3 three-pointers in 29.0 minutes per contest.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Coming off bench Wednesday

Hauser isn't part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's preseason game against the Raptors. Hauser drew the start in his most recent preseason outing, but he'll come off the bench for the Celtics' preseason finale. Boston's exact plans for the frontcourt are unclear at this point, with Sam Hauser, Chris Boucher, Xavier Tillman and Neemias Queta all jockeying for minutes. Boucher and Queta will draw the start at the four and five, respectively.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Nets 15 points in 17 minutes

Hauser posted 15 points (3-5 FG, 2-4 FT, 7-7 FT), one rebound, two triples, one steal and one turnover across 17 minutes during Sunday's 138-107 preseason win over Cleveland. Hauser won't do much for you outside of points and triples, but if he's able to secure a starting role in Boston this season, he should be effective in those two categories. He's someone to consider as a late-round flier in deep leagues.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Notches six points

Hauser produced six points (2-6 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and three rebounds in 15 minutes during Friday's 119-81 loss to the Knicks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Hauser, who has three years left on his deal, established himself as a key role player for Boston in 2024-25. He made 71 regular-season appearances, posting averages of 8.5 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 41.6 percent from beyond the arc. With Jayson Tatum (Achilles) facing a lengthy rehab, Hauser could see an expanded role in 2025-26.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Cleared for Game 5

Hauser (ankle) is available for Wednesday's Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Knicks. Hauser is officially set to return from a three-game absence due to a right ankle sprain. The 27-year-old's return certainly doesn't offset the loss of Jayson Tatum (Achilles), but he does give Joe Mazzulla a productive wing option off the bench as the Celtics look to extend their season.
