Gortman agreed to a two-way deal with the Mavericks on Friday, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Gortman had joined Dallas on an Exhibit 10 deal earlier in the summer, but he'll head up securing one of the Mavericks three two-way spots after the team waived A.J. Lawson on Friday. The 21-year-old impressed in the preseason, during which he averaged 10.3 points while shooting 51.6 percent from the field. The guard is expected to spend the majority of his time with the Mavericks' G League affiliate, the Texas Legends.

The Mavericks signed Gortman to an Exhibit 10 contract Thursday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
Gortman spent last season with the Trail Blazers' G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix. While he has yet to make an NBA appearance, Gortman will now have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot in Dallas.
