Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Solid rotational piece
Wright closed his second season with averages of 4.2 points, 2.1 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 12.4 minutes per contest in 27 appearances.
Wright was impressive enough in training camp to receive a two-way contract early in the season and split time between the NBA and the G League during the 2022-23 campaign. The Colorado product was used as a depth piece for the Mavericks throughout the season, filling in when typical backcourt rotation players were sidelined and seeing an extended role down the stretch with Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic in and out of the lineup.

Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Goes for 11 points Wednesday
Wright totaled 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block over 23 minutes during Wednesday's 137-128 overtime victory over San Antonio.
Wright only logged 23 out of 53 possible minutes during this overtime win, but there's no question he made his presence felt. The Colorado product has reached the 20-minute mark in each of his last three games, but he hasn't been a part of the Mavs' regular rotation when Kyrie Irving (foot) and Luka Doncic (thigh) are healthy. Dallas was also without Tim Hardaway (calf) on Wednesday.

Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Joins NBA rotation
Wright (illness) suited up and played 21 minutes off the bench Saturday in the Mavericks' 112-108 loss to the Grizzlies, finishing with four points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and four rebounds.
With both of the Mavericks' starting guards in Luka Doncic (thigh) and Kyrie Irving (foot) sitting out Saturday, Wright got the opportunity to make his first appearance with the NBA team since Feb. 15. The second-year guard, one of Dallas' two two-way players, had missed the G League's Texas Legends' most recent game Thursday against the Windy City Bulls due to an illness, but he looked healthy Saturday while slotting into the NBA rotation. Assuming Dallas gets one of Irving or Doncic back for Monday's game against the Grizzlies, however, Wright will likely move outside of the rotation.

Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Will be available Sunday
Wright (foot) will be available to play Sunday against the Clippers.
Wright missed Dallas' last two games with a right foot sprain and had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday, but he'll ultimately be able to suit up for the Mavericks' final contest of the week. Prior to suffering the injury, Wright had taken hold of a spot in head coach Jason Kidd's rotation as a backup point guard, but the second-year player is averaging just 7.7 minutes per contest in January.

Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Questionable Sunday
Wright (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Clippers.
Wright has missed a pair of contests with a sprained right foot, and his availability remains up in the air for Sunday's tilt. The 24-year-old has earned a fringe rotation spot for the Dallas backcourt, and if he remains out, Frank Ntilikina and Jaden Hardy could see a few extra minutes.

Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Plays career-high 23 minutes
Wright chipped in two points (1-1 FG, 0-1 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one steal over 23 minutes during Thursday's 129-114 win over the Rockets.
Wright randomly logged a career-high 23 minutes in the victory, shifting up in the rotation due to the fact the Mavericks were without a handful of regular rotation pieces. Despite the unexpected opportunity, Wright failed to make the most of his uptick in playing time, registering very little in terms of tangible production. Simply put, there is no need to pay too much attention to this situation.

Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Returns to starting lineup
Wright recorded 15 points (6-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT) seven assists, two rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes during Friday's 112-105 loss to the Lakeland Magic.
Without Jaden Hardy, Wright has returned to the starting lineup and assumed the role of primary creator. However, his inefficient scoring caused him to post a team-low negative-21 point differential.

Wright tallied 21 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes during Saturday's 117-102 loss to the Hustle.
