Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Positive results from imaging
Coach Taylor Jenkins said Tuesday that imaging on Morant's hip turned out "really good," but he's still considered week-to-week, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
While Morant has already missed Memphis' last five games due to posterior hip subluxation and Grade 1 pelvic strains, imaging done Monday seems to confirm that no further damage has been done. With Morant potentially out until at least early December, Scotty Pippen, Luke Kennard, Jaylen Wells and Marcus Smart (illness) are all candidates to receive increased playing time in the star guard's absence.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Remains week-to-week
Coach Taylor Jenkins said Sunday that Morant (hip) remains week-to-week and will undergo more imaging Monday, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Morant will miss a fifth straight game Sunday night, and he doesn't appear close to making a return. The fact the medical team is still trying to figure out the extent of the injury is a bit worrisome, but Jenkins didn't sound concerned. Marcus Smart (illness) and Desmond Bane have recently returned to action following lengthy injury absences, but Jaylen Wells and Scotty Pippen continue to start in Memphis' backcourt.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Considered week-to-week
Morant (hip) is considered week-to-week and doesn't have a specific timetable for his return, the team announced Saturday.
Morant was initially diagnosed with extreme right hip flexion, but further imaging later revealed a posterior hip subluxation (without dislocation) and multiple associated Grade 1 pelvic muscle strains. The Grizzlies won't take any risks with the health of their star point guard and will give him all the time he needs to recover and get back to 100 percent. Expect Scotty Pippen, who posted a triple-double in the win over the Wizards on Friday, to continue starting at the point while Morant is sidelined.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Will not play Friday vs. Wizards
Morant is out for Friday's game against the Wizards due to right hip soreness.
Morant exited Wednesday's win over the Lakers in the third quarter and didn't return. It seems the Grizzlies will be extremely cautious with their star point guard, given his recent injury history. The absence of Morant means Scotty Pippen could get the start at point guard, especially since Marcus Smart (finger) and Desmond Bane (oblique) are ruled out for Friday's game as well. Morant's next chance to play will come against the Trail Blazers on Sunday.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Exits early and doesn't return
Morant (hamstring) departed Wednesday's 131-114 win over the Lakers in the third quarter and did not return. He logged 20 points (7-17 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five assists, four rebounds, a steal and a block across 24 minutes before exiting.
Morant went up for an alley-oop late in the third period and landed awkwardly before departing the contest with what's been labeled a right hamstring injury. The point guard has missed one of Memphis' nine games this season, and his next chance to play will come Friday against the Wizards.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Doubtful to return
Morant is doubtful to return to Wednesday's game against the Lakers due to a right hamstring injury.
Morant landed awkwardly on an alley-oop attempt and went back to the locker room with a hamstring injury. He's unlikely to return to Wednesday's contest, which could result in more minutes for Scotty Pippen and Luke Kennard.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Goes to locker room after fall
Morant went back to the locker room after taking a hard fall on an alley-oop attempt during Wednesday's game against the Lakers, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
It's unclear what type of injury Morant is dealing with, but it's considered severe enough to warrant a trip to the locker room. While he's sidelined, Scotty Pippen and Luke Kennard could see more action.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Posts monster triple-double
Morant registered 26 points (9-16 FG, 2-5 3PT, 6-7 FT), 10 rebounds, 14 assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Thursday's 122-99 victory over the Bucks.
Morant had his way throughout the evening and managed to rack up double-digit assists for the fourth time in five appearances this season. He also set his best scoring mark of the young campaign by pouring in 26 points in an efficient manner. Memphis figures to continue to rely heavily on the 25-year-old point guard while a good chunk of the club's normal rotation returns to health.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Sniffs triple-double in loss
Morant supplied 14 points (5-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds and 11 assists in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 119-106 loss to the Nets.
Morant returned from a one-game absence due to a thigh injury, and while his efficiency was subpar at best, he still found a way to impact the game and deliver a quality fantasy line. The star guard finished just two rebounds shy of a triple-double, and while he can have poor shooting performances from time to time, his fantasy impact goes well beyond what he can do as a scorer. Through four games this season, Morant is averaging 19.0 points, 8.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Morant (thigh) is available for Wednesday's game against the Nets, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Morant has been upgraded from questionable to available and will return from a one-game absence due to right thigh soreness. The All-Star point guard posted two double-doubles through his first three games, averaging 20.7 points, 7.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per game. As expected, he's part of Wednesday's starting lineup.

Morant (thigh) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Nets.

Morant (thigh) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bulls.
Morant was able to play through right thigh soreness Saturday against the Magic, but he will observe Monday's game in street clothes. Scotty Pippen should see a significant increase in playing time Monday and could be inserted into the starting lineup alongside Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane for Monday's contest.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Questionable for Monday
Morant is questionable for Monday's game against the Bulls due to right thigh soreness.
Morant was deemed questionable for Saturday's contest due to thigh soreness, but he played through the issue and recorded a 16-point, 10-assist double-double across 25 minutes. The injury now has Morant's status for Monday in question, but considering he was able to shed the designation Saturday, he could have a good chance of suiting up. If he is unable to go, Scotty Pippen will see an increased role.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Ready to go Saturday
Morant (thigh) is available for Saturday's game against the Magic.
Morant was tabbed as a game-time call, with a decision being made after shootaround, but the star point guard will be available for the second half of this back-to-back set. Expect Morant to handle his regular workload in this matchup while operating as the Grizzlies' primary offensive threat.

Morant is in danger of missing his first game of the season Saturday due to his thigh injury. The star guard has yet to play more than 28 minutes in a contest this season after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in 2023-24. Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Leads Griz with 24 points Friday
Morant closed with 24 points (8-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-9 FT) and two assists over 24 minutes during Friday's 128-108 loss to the Rockets.
Morant scored a game-high 24 points Friday, though he wasn't able to fill the box score out other than two dimes. He did lead both teams with six turnovers, but that's to expected on some nights as a ball-dominant guard. Morant has gotten to the line nine times in each of the first two games of the 2024-25 campaign, and his ability to draw defenders while getting to the basket will open the floor for Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart and the rest of the Grizzlies offense.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Double-doubles in season opener
Morant amassed 22 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 8-9 FT), five rebounds, 10 assists and one steal over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 126-124 victory over Utah.
Morant dazzled both as a scorer and playmaker for the Grizzlies in this one. Even though he finished third in scoring behind Desmond Bane (24 points) and Santi Aldama (27 points), the star floor general was influential for Memphis and carried the team to victory. One of the most electric point guards in the league, Morant should be in line for a strong 2024-25 season after being limited to just nine regular-season appearances in 2023-24 due to injuries and suspensions. It's worth noting that during his last full season in 2022-23, Morant averaged 26.2 points, 8.1 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals over 31.9 minutes in 61 regular-season outings.
