  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Falls out of rotation

Diawara (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Monday in the Knicks' 108-105 win over the Hawks. Prior to Monday, Diawara had received playing time in all but one of the Knicks' first 23 games coming out of the All-Star break, averaging 5.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 three-pointers in 12.4 minutes per contest. However, following the recent returns of Landry Shamet and Miles McBride from long-term absences, the Knicks are now back to full strength and no longer appear to have room in the rotation for the rookie second-round draft pick. Diawara could get extended run at some point over the final three games of the regular season if the Knicks' playoff positioning is locked in and multiple key players end up getting rested, but the 20-year-old forward's appearances will likely be limited to garbage-time scenarios once the postseason gets underway.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Struggles shooting in win Friday

Diawara supplied four points (2-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt), five rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes during Friday's 101-92 win over the Pacers. Diawara had 10 points in the recent victory over Utah. With Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), Josh Hart (knee) and Jeremy Sochan (illness) out Friday, he had an opportunity to benefit offensively. However, that didn't happen, with the 20-year-old shooting just 22.2 percent from the field while failing to drain any of his attempts from behind the arc. If Towns, Hart and Sochan remain sidelined, Diawara might continue to see more action than usual moving ahead. That could change, though, if he doesn't turn things around on both ends of the floor.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Ties season high in treys

Diawara produced 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-8 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 138-89 victory over the 76ers. The four triples matched a season high for Diawara, who should at least remain a consistent member of the Knicks' rotation if OG Anunoby (toe) isn't ready to return to the floor out of the All-Star break. Over his last five contests, Diawara is still averaging a modest 7.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.6 three-pointers in 20.1 minutes per game.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Starting sans Anunoby

Diawara is in the Knicks' starting lineup against the Pistons on Friday, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports. The rookie second-rounder will make his sixth start of the season Friday, as the Knicks will be without OG Anunoby (toe). Diawara's last start took place Jan. 17 against the Suns, when he logged three points, four rebounds and two assists over 12 minutes.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Leaves early Tuesday

Diawara (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Tuesday's game against Washington. He'll finish the night with five points (2-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one rebound and one assist in four minutes. Diawara suffered the injury during the first quarter, and while he was spotted on the court trying to warm up ahead of the second half, he's since been shut down for the rest of the night. He can be considered questionable for the second half of his team's back-to-back Wednesday against Denver until further notice.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Picks up ankle injury

Diawara is questionable to return to Tuesday's game against the Wizards due to a left ankle injury. Diawara totaled five points, one rebound and one assist in four minutes before going down with the injury. Guerschon Yabusele could pick up more minutes if Diawara is unable to return.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Recalled by Knicks

The Knicks recalled Diawara from the G League Westchester Knicks on Friday. Diawara had a brief stint at the G League level but is back with New York and could be an option in the rotation for Saturday's game against the 76ers. That said, he's not expected to see a big enough role to be an option in most fantasy formats. Diawara is averaging a mere 4.5 minutes per game at the NBA level since the beginning of January.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Logs garbage-time run in blowout

Diawara played the final 7:47 of Wednesday's 120-66 win over the Nets, finishing with seven points (2-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist. Recalled from the G League's Westchester Knicks prior to Wednesday's contest, Diawara was able to get in some run during garbage time while New York emptied the bench in a franchise-record 54-point victory. The rookie forward could rejoin Westchester ahead of its next game Friday at home versus the Windy City Bulls.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Retreats to bench

Diawara will come off the bench Monday against Dallas. Diawara will rejoin the second unit with Josh Hart (ankle) getting the green light to suit up. Diawara started Saturday against the Suns, but he saw just 12 minutes with three points, four rebounds and two assists.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Crashes back to Earth in loss

Diawara accumulated six points (2-5 FG, 2-5 3Pt), one rebound and one assist in six minutes during Wednesday's 134-132 loss to San Antonio. Diawara remained in the starting lineup, although he was unable to repeat his 18-point performance from two days earlier. At this point, Diawara is merely a placeholder until Josh Hart (ankle) is cleared to return, which could be as soon as Friday against the Hawks. Managers need not concern themselves with Diawara, outside of the deepest leagues.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Surprises with 18 points

Diawara finished Monday's 130-125 win over the Pelicans with 18 points (7-9 FG, 4-4 3Pt), one rebound and two steals over 18 minutes. Diawara put up a career-high 18 points in the win. The Frenchman poured in 13 points in the first quarter and eventually cooled off, but it was an encouraging performance for the 2025 second-round pick. Miles McBride was cleared to play and came off the bench, and Josh Hart (ankle) could return to action soon, so Diawara's time in the rotation may be short-lived.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Starting Thursday

Diawara is in the starting lineup for Thursday's matchup with the Pacers, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports. Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), Mitchell Robinson (ankle) and Josh Hart (abdomen) will all be unavailable for Thursday's game, which will result in Diawara drawing the first NBA start of his career. Joining him in the first unit Thursday will be Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Ariel Hukporti.

New York recalled Diawara from the G League's Westchester Knicks on Monday. A second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Diawara has been used sparingly by New York thus far. Through five appearances, he's averaging 2.6 minutes per contest at the NBA level.

The Knicks recalled Diawara from the G League's Westchester Knicks on Saturday. Diawara was assigned to Westchester on Friday and logged 31 minutes in Saturday's loss to Delaware, posting 15 points (6-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and two assists before being recalled to New York. The forward has appeared in four regular-season games for the Knicks this season, averaging 0.5 points in 2.0 minutes per contest.

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Scoreless in four minutes

Diawara produced zero points (0-1 FG, 0-2 FT) and one assist over four minutes during Monday's 119-102 win over the Wizards. • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Taken by Knicks with 51st pick

Diawara was selected by the Knicks with the No. 51 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Diawara looks like a long-term bet for the Knicks, as the 20-year-old forward is a bit rough around the edges and might not be ready to play in the NBA right now. It's unclear if the Knicks aim to give him a chance stateside or if he'll be a draft-and-stash prospect. Diawara averaged 5.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game with Cholet during the 2024-25 season in the LNB Elite, France's top-tier league.
