Raptors' Markquis Nowell: Out indefinitely with hammy strain
Nowell sustained a left hamstring strain Saturday in the G League Raptors 905's 97-91 win over the Delaware Blue Coats and is considered out indefinitely, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
The Raptors' G League affiliate hasn't provided a precise timeline for Nowell's return, though Murphy notes that the rookie point guard's injury is viewed as more than a day-to-day concern. As a result, Nowell's potential availability for the G League Next Up Game on Feb. 18 during NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis could be affected. One of Toronto's three two-way players, Nowell has made just one four-minute appearance at the NBA level but has been a key performer for the 905 throughout the campaign. Over his 20 total appearances in the G League in 2023-24, Nowell is averaging 15.3 points (on 42.4 percent shooting from the field), 8.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 2.6 three-pointers and 2.0 steals in 33.1 minutes.

Raptors' Markquis Nowell: Dishes out four dimes
Nowell generated four points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block in 11 minutes during Sunday's 134-93 preseason win over Cairns.
Nowell saw limited playing time during Sunday's matchup but still contributed in several areas and tied for the second-highest assist total on the team. The 23-year-old showed promise during Summer League play, especially as a passer, but it seems unlikely that he will see a sizable role in the NBA once the regular season gets underway.

Raptors' Markquis Nowell: Sets up teammates in win
Nowell tallied 17 points (6-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 12 assists, three rebounds and one block in 30 minutes during Saturday's 108-101 Summer League win over the Warriors.
Nowell displayed impressive scoring efficiency and playmaking abilities in Wednesday's win. While he did record a game-high 12 assists, he also turned the ball over six times. Nowell's 5-foot-7 stature will make it hard for him to stay on the floor at the defensive end in the NBA.

Raptors' Markquis Nowell: Won't play Thursday
Nowell is out for Thursday's Las Vegas Summer League game against the Nets due to an undisclosed reason, Vivek Jacob of the Raptors' official site reports.
It is unclear if Nowell suffered an injury, but he will not play Thursday. With Toronto's Summer League squad holding an 0-3 record, they are unlikely to make the Summer League Playoffs. This means that Nowell will have to wait until the regular season to see game action, where he will split time between the NBA and G League as a two-way player.

Raptors' Markquis Nowell: Inks two-way deal
Nowell signed a two-way contract with the Raptors on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Nowell wasn't selected during Thursday's draft, but he'll have an opportunity to compete for a professional role on a deal that will allow him to move between the G League and NBA clubs. Nowell spent three collegiate seasons at Arkansas-Little Rock before transferring to Kansas State ahead of the 2021-22 season. He averaged 15.0 points, 6.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals in 33.6 minutes per game and set an NCAA Tournament record with 19 assists during Kansas State's Sweet 16 victory over Michigan State.
