Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Still weeks away from return
Rotowire
Coach Rick Carlisle said Nesmith (ankle) is still weeks away from returning to action, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Nesmith has been sidelined since spraining his left ankle against the Pelicans on Nov. 1. He was initially expected to return at some point in December, but that's now up in the air. For what it's worth, Nesmith was able to do some running and shooting on his own at Tuesday's practice.

Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Still weeks away from game action
Rotowire
Coach Rick Carlisle said Sunday that Nesmith (ankle) is still weeks away from returning to game action, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Andrew Nembhard (knee) is returning to the Pacers' starting lineup Sunday, but they'll still be without Nesmith for the foreseeable future. Quenton Jackson will move to the bench to make room for Nembhard, while Bennedict Mathurin should continue to start until Nesmith is cleared to play again. Given Carlisle's vague return timeline, it seems unlikely Nesmith will be able to play until after the NBA Cup concludes.

Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Quiet in preseason win
Rotowire
Nesmith finished with four points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3PT), one rebound and one block in 21 minutes during Thursday's preseason win over the Hornets.
Nesmith was back in the starting lineup but struggled to find any rhythm. Although he is slated to be a starter come Opening Night, Nesmith's fantasy game is relatively limited. He could very well have pockets of value throughout the season, but it's hard to see him being anything more than a streamer, barring injuries to other key players.

Rotowire
Nesmith (ankle) is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the Hornets.
The Pacers rotated their first unit in their previous preseason contest, but they're trending toward what looks like their lineup for the regular-season opener against the Pistons next Wednesday, and that includes Nesmith, who missed Monday's contest against the Grizzlies due to an ankle injury. Rotowire
Nesmith accumulated 15 points (5-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT) and six rebounds over 33 minutes during Friday's 129-120 loss to the Cavaliers.
Nesmith was one of eight Pacers players to score double-digits, although it wasn't enough to get the victory. While it has been an encouraging season for Nesmith, this does feel like a best-case scenario in terms of opportunity. Looking beyond this season, it's hard to see him being a must-roster player outside of deeper leagues.
