Despite Utah missing several key players, Abmas hasn't been part of the Jazz's preseason rotation. His next steps are expected to include playing for the G League's Salt Lake City Stars prior to the upcoming season.

Jazz's Max Abmas: Doesn't play Monday
Abmas (coach's decision) didn't play in Monday's 114-101 preseason loss to the Mavericks.
It's unclear whether Abmas was available to play against Dallas, and his final opportunity to see game action during the preseason will come Thursday against Portland. The 24-year-old signed a training camp contract with the Jazz last Monday but has yet to appear in a game for the team. He'll likely join the club's G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, for the 2025-26 campaign.

Jazz's Max Abmas: Inks pact with Utah
Abmas agreed to a training camp contract with the Jazz on Monday, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Abmas will compete for a spot on the regular-season roster, though it's more likely that he'll end up with the club's G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars. The 24-year-old point guard appeared in 50 outings for Salt Lake City last season, during which he averaged 13.9 points, 4.8 assists and 3.0 rebounds across 26.0 minutes per game.
