Trail Blazers' Anfernee Simons: Stuffs stat sheet Saturday
Simons closed with 18 points (7-22 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, six assists and five steals in 33 minutes during Saturday's 114-94 loss to the Spurs.
Simons didn't have his best shooting performance, but he still salvaged his fantasy line by recording a season-high mark in steals. Simons also snapped a streak of three games with at least 20 points, but he's reached the 18-point mark five times in eight December contests, so he's been finding ways to produce. Simons is averaging nearly 18 points per game this season, and he's been one of the Blazers' most consistent scoring weapons despite the team's overall struggles.

Trail Blazers' Shaedon Sharpe: Goes for 25 points in loss
Sharpe totaled 25 points (11-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes during Saturday's 114-94 loss to the Spurs.
The Trail Blazers looked overmatched throughout the game, but Sharpe still found a way to post a strong stat line, and he led Portland in scoring by posting his second straight game with at least 25 points. That's a tally he's reached just four times this season, however, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect Sharpe to hit these figures often. Still, the former Kentucky alum is having a strong season in his third year in The Association and is averaging a career-high mark in scoring through his first 20 contests with 17.7 points per tilt.

Trail Blazers' Jerami Grant: Woeful shooting display Saturday
Grant ended with five points (2-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt), two assists and one block over 30 minutes during Saturday's 114-94 loss to the Spurs.
The Trail Blazers needed Grant to be productive in this contest, and the veteran forward couldn't deliver while posting one of his worst shooting lines of the 2024-25 campaign thus far. Grant has failed to reach the 15-point mark in five of his last eight appearances, including two outings in which he couldn't even surpass the five-point plateau. Grant is prone to deliver strong performances occasionally, but he's lacked consistency in recent weeks. Over that eight-game stretch, Grant is averaging a mere 14.4 points per tilt.

Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Not playing vs. San Antonio
Banton (hip) is out for Saturday's game against the Spurs.
Banton will miss a second straight game due to a left hip contusion. Even though he's not a regular starter, the Blazers will miss Banton's scoring contributions off the bench. The four-year veteran is averaging 9.8 points despite playing just 16.7 minutes per game. His next chance to play will come against the Mavericks on Monday.

Trail Blazers' Taze Moore: Off injury report for Saturday
Moore (hip) is off the injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Spurs.
Moore is good to go if need be, though the two-way guard hasn't appeared in an NBA game since Nov. 25. Over two appearances for the Trail Blazers, the 26-year-old has averaged 3.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.5 assists across 10.0 minutes per contest.

Banton (hip) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against San Antonio.

Trail Blazers' Deandre Ayton: Posts double-double in return
Ayton (illness) notched 15 points (7-14 FG, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal in 35 minutes during Thursday's 126-124 win over the Nuggets.
Ayton returned after missing the Trail Blazers' last two games with a non-COVID-related illness. He seemed to be operating at 100 percent Thursday, as he saw ample minutes while matching his third-highest rebound total of the season. Ayton began the season with a five-game double-double streak, and he could be on his way to building another run now that he's back in action.

Trail Blazers' Shaedon Sharpe: Hits for 27 in victory
Sharpe finished with 27 points (9-18 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes during Thursday's 126-124 victory over Denver.
Sharpe achieved his high total despite converting only two of his eight three-point attempts. He utilized excellent mid-range shooting and a near-perfect night at the charity stripe to reach his third-highest scoring result of the season. He also matched a season high with six rebounds in the victory.

Trail Blazers' Anfernee Simons: Sinks buzzer-beater for the win
Simons finished with 28 points (11-20 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound and 10 assists in 35 minutes during Thursday's 126-124 victory over the Nuggets.
Simons drove past Russell Westbrook and made a layup with one second remaining, sealing the victory and ending the Trail Blazers' six-game skid. While Portland has struggled with injuries, Simons has been a steady presence in the starting lineup, missing only three of 24 games this season. He's in the midst of an excellent three-game run, averaging 26.0 points, 7.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals.

Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Won't play Thursday
Banton (hip) is out for Thursday's game against the Nuggets.
Banton often provides a scoring punch off the bench, but this hip injury will prevent him from taking the floor in this one. The 25-year-old has been a key rotation piece for the Trail Blazers since the start of November, averaging 11.0 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds across 18.4 minutes per game during that stretch.

Trail Blazers' Deandre Ayton: Good to go
Ayton (illness) will play Thursday against the Nuggets.
Ayton has been battling an illness for over a week, but it won't keep him out of Thursday's matchup. He'll presumably return to the starting lineup after gaining clearance to play, which would bump Donovan Clingan back to a bench role.

Trail Blazers' Deandre Ayton: Lands questionable tag
Ayton (illness) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Nuggets.
Ayton is at risk of missing a third straight game due to an illness. However, the big man was able to participate in Tuesday's practice, which is a positive sign for his availability Thursday. If active, Ayton would likely reclaim the starting center spot from Donovan Clingan.

Trail Blazers' Matisse Thybulle: Not yet taking contact
Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups said Tuesday that Thybulle (ankle) has resumed standstill shooting on the court but hasn't progressed to taking contact, Sean Highkin of Rip City Radio 620 Portland reports.
Thybulle has been sidelined all season, first due to his recovery from a right knee procedure before he suffered a Grade 2 right ankle sprain in November while ramping up during his return-to-play program. While Thybulle's ability to get back on the court in some capacity is good news, his season debut shouldn't be viewed as imminent until he's able to start taking some contact in practice.
