The list of Bengals who won't play Friday night against the Jets includes four cornerbacks and two defensive linemen.
Cornerbacks Brandon Ghee, Jason Allen, Shaun Prater and first-round pick Dre Kirkpatrick will be out, as will linemen Robert Geathers and Pat Sims.
The injuries at cornerback means extended reps for Adam Jones, who is fresh off a calf strain. T.J. Heath and Chris Lewis-Harris, both signed in the last three weeks off the street, will soak up a majority of the snaps in the second half.
Marvin Lewis expects Allen and Kirkpatrick to be back or close to it by next week's game at Atlanta, but it leaves the Bengals thin on Friday.
The other Bengals who are not expected to play are QB Tyler Hansen, RB Bernard Scott, OL Matt Murphy and WR Ryan Whalen.
With fourth-string QB Hansen out, extended second-half snaps will be available for Zac Robinson, who ran the practice squad last year. He only threw 15 passes during last year's preseason but has a good chance to surpass that total on Friday.
