The Bucs started training camp with a conditioning test on Thursday, which everyone had to pass so they could practice Friday. DT Brian Price did not pass and was traded later in the day to Chicago. According to coach Greg Schiano, everyone else who was healthy passed and practiced on Friday in Tampa.
Who's here: QB Josh Freeman is in camp and 20 pounds lighter. Freeman left practice early Friday because he felt nauseous, but Schiano said it wasn't serious. Not only does Freeman have a different look, things look different around him on offense. Rookie RB Doug Martin is in camp and one day in, looks to be the starter, according to Tampa Bay beat writer Stephen Holder. WR Vincent Jackson is in camp and should help Freeman bounce back from a forgettable 2011.
Who's not: LT Donald Penn is expected to miss the first several weeks of training camp with a calf injury. The Bucs placed DE Da'Quan Bowers and CB Derrick Roberson on the the physically unable to perform list on Thursday. Bowers tore his Achilles in May and could miss the season. WR Arrelious Benn and CB E.J. Biggers left practice early with injuries on Friday, but the severity of the injuries is unknown.
