Cardinals vs. Lions Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game

Game Recap

The Detroit Lions took an ego-bruising defeat against the Green Bay Packers last week, but they kept their chin up and bounced back on Sunday. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Arizona Cardinals 26-23.

Detroit QB Matthew Stafford was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 270 yards on 31 attempts. Stafford ended up with a passer rating of 119. We would be remiss not to mention K Matt Prater, too, whose 39-yard field goal in the fourth quarter was the deciding factor in the contest.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed 14. Prater delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.

No one had a standout game offensively for Arizona, but QB Kyler Murray led the way with three touchdowns.

The matchup brought Detroit to 1-2 and dropped Arizona to a mirror-image 2-1.

Detroit will square off against the New Orleans Saints at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at Ford Field. If the game is anything like New Orleans 52-38 win from their previous meeting October of 2017, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy. As for the Cardinals, they will go up against the Carolina Panthers at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at Bank of America Stadium.
