Colts vs. Bengals Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game

Game Recap

The Indianapolis Colts fell to the Cincinnati Bengals 34-23 when the teams previously met two seasons ago; this time around, they exacted some revenge. The Colts got past Cincinnati with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 31-27. The win came about thanks to a strong surge after the first quarter to overcome a 14 to nothing deficit.

Indianapolis QB Philip Rivers was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 371 yards on 44 attempts. Rivers ended up with a passer rating of 154.70. TE Trey Burton also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.

No one had a standout game offensively for Cincinnati, but they got scores from RB Giovani Bernard and RB Joe Mixon. QB Joe Burrow ended up with a passer rating of 126.40.

The victory bumped Indianapolis' record up to 4-2. This is the second loss in a row for Cincinnati and nudges their record down to 1-4-1.

Indianapolis will have some time to savor their victory since their next matchup is a little ways off; they will square off against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field at 1 p.m. ET next week. If the game is anything like Detroit's 39-35 victory from their previous meeting September of 2016, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy. The Bengals will be playing at home against the Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. Cleveland's offense will be looking to get out and run against a Cleveland squad that has given up 31 points on average this season.
