After a disappointing outing the previous week against Jacksonville, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill got back on track with an impressive performance, firing three touchdown passes and leading his team to a Week 9 victory over the Chargers at Sun Life Stadium.
Tannehill got off to a fast start, hooking up with Charles Clay for a 6-yard touchdown on the opening drive of the game. On the opening drive of the third quarter, he found Rishard Matthews for a 21-yard touchdown strike. He connected with Jarvis Landry for a 14-yard strike in the third quarter to give his team a 37-point lead in the third quarter. With the game well in hand, the team sat him out in the fourth quarter for backup Matt Moore.
Tannehill compiled 208 of his 288 passing yards in the first half. He completed 24 of 34 pass attempts. with three touchdowns and no interceptions, registering a 125.6 passer rating in a 37-0 victory. It's the second time in his career that he's thrown for three touchdowns without an interception. He rushed for 47 yards on four attempts. He has rushed for 45-plus yards in each of his last four games.
He'll look to keep rolling Week 9 at Detroit.
