- Ryan Kalil appeared on Pro Football Talk Live to discuss his Super Bowl guarantee. He said he wrote the whole thing himself, even the part about the "daunting, unpaved path ahead" ... and said he paid more than $4,500 to run the ad.
- The Panthers made two roster moves on the eve of training camp. LB David Nixon is in and RB Armond Smith is out. Nixon has played in 15 games with three teams and had a tryout with the Panthers at a rookie camp in May. Smith was only with the team for two months.
- WR Steve Smith is donating $100,000 to help cover medical expenses for the Colorado shooting victims. "As a father and husband I cannot imagine the pain and suffering the victims are going through," he said.
