Apparently, proms are all the rage in the NFL these days. A few months ago, Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho took his biggest fan to prom when she got 10,000 retweets, making her "the happiest girl alive." Then, last week, a bunch of players from the Jets -- Saalim Hakim, Shaq Evans, Dexter McDougle, Bilal Powell, Jaiquawn Jarrett, Leger Douzable, T.J. Barnes, Antonio Cromartie and Chris Owusu -- helped a Long Island girl ask her boyfriend to prom in a short video.
Now, new Browns wide receiver Brian Hartline has jumped in on the trend. Along with Anderson Varejao, Matthew Dellavedova and Joe Harris from the Cavaliers, Hartline attended A Prom To Remember, an event "created six years ago to give teens with life-threatening illnesses an opportunity to experience the occasion that has become a rite of passage in American culture each spring," according to the Browns' official website.
For his part, Hartline was quoted as saying, "I just really love seeing all the smiles on the kids' faces. I plan on going to this event each and every year." Nice to see the wideout already reaching out to the community just a few weeks after signing with the team.
