The Jets' final 53-man roster was in place for not much more than 12 hours before the team started making changes.

On Saturday they waived DT Marcus Dixon who had been with the team in 2010 and 2011 following two years with the Dallas Cowboys. They also waived TE Dedrick Epps and S Antonio Allen, a seventh-round draft pick in 2012.

The team claimed off waivers NT Isaako Aaitu i and WR Clyde Gates from Miami. Both players were with Miami in 2011 when Jets OC Tony Sparano was the head coach of the Dolphins. They also claimed TE Konrad Reuland from the 49ers. Reuland was a teammate of QB Mark Sanchez at Mission Viejo High School.
