Our first NFL Sunday of 2026 was absolutely magical. We saw the Detroit Lions defeat the New Orleans Saints in overtime, the Buffalo Bills win a thriller against the Houston Texans — dropping 36 points against that vaunted defense — and the Chicago Bears score 59 points against the Carolina Panthers in what was the highest-scoring Week 1 game of all time!
Things got even crazier in the 4 p.m. window, as Jacoby Brissett and the Arizona Cardinals upset the Los Angeles Chargers as double-digit underdogs. The Minnesota Vikings orchestrated a remarkable comeback against the Green Bay Packers with backup quarterback Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles won a thriller over the Washington Commanders.
There's a lot to break down and plenty to overreact to. Below, you will find a full recap of the highlights from Sunday.
