Center Nick Mangold believes Mark Sanchez is the best quarterback for the Jets this season, and he said the rest of the locker room agrees with him.
"I haven't walked around with a pen and paper and taken a poll, but from the feeling I get, the locker room wants to win. Whoever gives us the best chance to do that, we want out there -- and at this point, Mark gives us that best chance," Mangold told the New York Post, adding that Sanchez has shown "flashes" this spring while understanding the team's new playbook.
As for rookie Geno Smith , who is battling Sanchez for the starting job, Mangold sees him as a hard worker who just isn't quite ready for the job. The team should declare a starter before the end of training camp.
