Panthers coach Ron Rivera announced Monday safety Charles Godfrey has been lost for the season with an Achilles injury, but that wasn't the only bad news he had about the secondary. Safety Quintin Mikell is doubtful for Week 3 vs. N.Y. Giants with an ankle injury and cornerback Josh Thomas is visiting with a doctor to undergo concussion tests.
