The Patriots signed defensive back Jemea Thomas, a sixth-round pick out of Georgia Tech, to a four-year deal. Thomas can play slot or outside cornerback or safety, and coach Bill Belichick likes that versatility.
“He’s smart, he runs well, he’s a tough kid, he’s a good tackler," Belichick told WEEI. "I think that there’s definitely a place defensively to have a player like that."
