Raiders quarterback Derek Carr entered Sunday with only four touchdowns passes on the season. He doubled that amount with a career-best four-touchdown performance in a Week 6 home win over the Chargers. He became the first Oakland rookie to throw for four scores.
Carr got off to a fast start, connecting with Andre Holmes for a 77-yard touchdown on his first pass attempt of the day. He found James Jones in the end zone from 6 yards out in the second quarter. He hooked up with Brice Butler for a 44-yard touchdown strike in the third quarter and Holmes again for a 6-yard score in the fourth quarter. An interception to Jason Verrett with 1:13 remaining in the game proved to be costly for Carr in a 31-28 defeat.
Carr compiled 283 yards through the air while completing 18 of 34 passes. He added four touchdowns and one interception, registering a 107.8 passer rating. Carr will look to bounce back Week 7 at home against Arizona.
