Everyone knew that the Rams' pass rush was going to have a chance to help determine the winner of Super Bowl LVI. They were contained for a while, but eventually, Aaron Donald and his teammates wreaked havoc on Joe Burrow late in the game, as the Rams came from behind to post a 23-20 win over the Bengals

The Rams' pass rush matched a long-standing Super Bowl record. It was one of several records set during the final game of the 2021 season. Below is a rundown of each record that was set on Sunday night.

Youngest coach to win the Super Bowl

At 36 years and 20 days old, Sean McVay became the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl. The record was previously held by Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, who was six weeks shy of his 37th birthday when Pittsburgh defeated Arizona in Super Bowl XLIII. Tomlin was in his second season when the Steelers won the Super Bowl. McVay capped off his fifth season as Rams coach with the franchise's second Super Bowl win and first in Los Angeles.

Most sacks in a Super Bowl

The Rams' defense has joined a pretty elite group on defense. With seven sacks of Joe Burrow, the Rams matched the 2015 Rams, 1985 Bears, and 1975 Steelers with the most sacks in a Super Bowl game. Aaron Donald had two sacks of Burrow, while Von Miller, the MVP of Super Bowl 50, also recorded two sacks in his third Super Bowl game. Ernest Jones, Leonard Floyd and A'Shawn Robinson also recorded sacks of Burrow.

Hometown champion

Los Angeles joined last year's Buccaneers team as the only teams to win the Super Bowl on their home field. The Rams are the only team to win both the Super Bowl and the conference championship in their own stadium. SoFi Stadium, which hosted the 13th Super Bowl played in the state of California, hosted the first Los Angeles-based Super Bowl since Super Bowl XXVII.

Fastest second-half touchdown

Burrow's 75-yard touchdown pass to Tee Higgins tied the record for the quickest second half touchdown in Super Bowl annals. Higgins crossed the goal line just 12 seconds into the second half to give the Bengals a 17-13 lead. It took Percy Harvin 12 seconds to run the second half opening kickoff back 87 yards for a score during Seattle's 43-8 win over the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.
