Indianapolis Colts linebacker A.J. Edds left practice Sunday with an injured knee and an MRI was performed Monday to determine the extent of the damage. Early speculation is not good, and some are hearing that Edds has torn his ACL.
Edds, a fourth-round pick in 2010 by the Miami Dolphins, split last season between Indianapolis and New England. He appeared in nine games for the Colts in 2011. He was expected to be a backup inside linebacker in Indianapolis' new 3-4 defensive scheme.
No official word has come from the team yet, but an announcement is expected Tuesday afternoon.
