The Seahawks are coming off back-to-back 7-9 seasons, but a lot of analysts, experts, pundits and fans like them to make a playoff run in 2012 (hey, they won the division in 2010 -- stranger things have happened). Much of that has to do with a pretty good defense, but there's also rookie quarterback Russell Wilson, who won the starting job in the preseason. And while Wilson has shown maturity beyond his years, his success will depend on the other guy in the backfield: running back Marshawn Lynch, who was listed as questionable heading into the opener against the Cardinals.
Lynch practiced late last week for the first time since suffering back spasms in the second preseason game. Now, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Lynch will play Sunday though the team will monitor his workload. In Lynch's absence, rookie Robert Turbin would get the majority of the touches with Leon Washington serving as the third-down back.
