The dire situation at guard for the Browns got no brighter on Thursday when starter Shawn Lauvao (ankle) remained sidelined from practice.
Replacement Oniel Cousins, a converted tackle, was whistled for four penalties, including one that negated a touchdown, in the defeat to Miami on Sunday. He was part of a right side that struggled mightily with penalties and sacks.
There has yet to be confirmation on Lauvao's status for the game Sunday in Baltimore. But Rob Chudzinski has expressed confidence in Cousins if he indeed must continue to start.
