Aaron Rodgers has set plenty of NFL records during his 22-year career, and he added another one to his résumé on Thursday night against the Cleveland Browns, but then he lost the record just 16 minutes later.

First, let's break down the record that Rodgers broke. Going into Thursday night, Rodgers had thrown 11 touchdown passes and ZERO interceptions in five career games against the Browns. With those numbers, Rodgers was tied for the third-most touchdown passes that any quarterback has ever thrown against one opponent without throwing an interception.

Here's what the full list looked like heading into the Steelers-Browns game on Thursday night:

Player

Opponent

TD-INT ratio

T-1. Patrick Mahomes

Steelers

12-0

T-1. Tom Brady

Raiders

12-0

T-3. Aaron Rodgers

Browns

11-0

T-3. Drew Bledsoe

Cardinals

11-0

As you can see, Rodgers went into Week 4 needing just one touchdown pass to tie Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady in the NFL record book, and he got that pass early in the game when he connected with Roman Wilson on a short pop pass that went for a 12-yard score.

At that point, Rodgers tied the NFL record, but he didn't get to enjoy it for very long, because just 16 minutes later, Denzel Ward picked him off.

That marked the first time in his career that Rodgers threw an interception against the Browns and it knocked him out of a tie with Brady and Mahomes for most touchdown passes against one team without throwing an interception. It was a glorious 16 minutes for Rodgers, but now the record once again belongs only to Mahomes and Brady.

Those two will likely be tied for at least another season. The Chiefs don't face the Steelers this season, but they are scheduled to face Pittsburgh in 2027, so Mahomes will eventually get a chance to break his tie with Brady for the record.

As for Rodgers, the Steelers' seem to have perpetual bad luck in Thursday road games and that bad luck has now hit him. The Steelers have never won a Thursday night road game against a divisional opponent in franchise history. They're 0-9 all-time and they could drop to 0-10 if they can't figure out how to beat the Browns.
