The Seattle Seahawks will square off against the Houston Texans at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at NRG Stadium. If the game is anything like the Seahawks' 41-38 win from their previous meeting in October of 2017, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Seattle was able to grind out a solid victory over the San Francisco 49ers last week, winning 30-23. The team accrued 21 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory. Seattle can attribute much of their success to RB Travis Homer, who punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown -- a 73-yard rush in the first quarter -- was one of the highlights of the contest.
Meanwhile, Houston was expected to have a tough go of it last week, and, well, they did. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 31 to nothing punch to the gut against the Indianapolis Colts. Houston was down 21 to nothing at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. One thing working slightly against Houston was the run-of-the-mill game of their most targeted running back, RB Rex Burkhead, who rushed for 30 yards on eight carries.
The Seahawks are the favorite in this one, with an expected 8.5-point margin of victory. But bettors beware: they are only 2-4 against the spread when favored.
Seattle's win brought them up to 4-8 while the Texans' loss pulled them down to 2-10. Seattle is 0-3 after wins this season, and Houston is 1-8 after losses.
