49ers' Trent Williams: Officially out Week 16
Williams (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against Miami, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Williams' upcoming absence doesn't come as a surprise, as he remains unable to practice. Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated last week that the All-Pro left tackle's recovery has been slower than the team originally expected, and it's unclear when Williams may be able to return this season, if at all. Jaylon Moore started each of the past four weeks while Williams has been sidelined and presumably will do so again Sunday.

49ers' Trent Williams: Recovery taking longer than usual
Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Friday that Williams (ankle) is "trying to get back" and that his recovery has been "a lot slower than anticipated," Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
The All-Pro offensive lineman was sidelined for the 49ers' Week 15 loss to the Rams on Thursday night due to an ankle injury, but Shanahan's comments Friday indicate he may return at some point this season. Williams has now missed each of San Francisco's last four games, and Jaylon Moore is likely to continue protecting Brock Purdy's blindside until Williams has recovered.

49ers' Trent Williams: Sidelined for Week 15
Williams (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday night's matchup against the Rams, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Williams is now in line to miss his fourth consecutive game in Thursday night's divisional matchup due to an ankle injury sustained in November. Jaylon Moore is projected to continue serving as San Francisco's top left tackle until Williams recovers from the issue.

Williams has been tending to an ankle injury for multiple weeks now and it has caused him to miss the 49ers' last two games. He'll likely need to get on the practice field in some capacity Thursday or Friday if he's going to suit up against the Bears on Sunday.
