Marvin Jones: Released by Lions
The Lions released Jones on Tuesday in order for the wide receiver to attend to a family matter, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Jones didn't travel with the Lions for their Week 7 matchup with the Ravens for personal reasons. He then announced on Instagram on Tuesday that he's "stepping away from the team to take care of personal family matters," per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. It's unclear if Jones will be available at any point for the remainder of the campaign, but if not, he'll end his second stint in Detroit with five catches (on 10 targets) for 35 yards and no touchdowns.

Lions' Marvin Jones: Not playing Sunday
Jones will not travel to Baltimore and has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game due to the Ravens due to personal reasons.
The veteran hasn't been involved significantly in games when the top Lions pass catchers have all been healthy. More information as to why Jones will miss Sunday's matchup will likely arrive in the coming days.

Lions' Marvin Jones: Small role with St. Brown back
Jones caught his only target for five yards during Sunday's 20-6 win over Tampa Bay.
After seeing nearly 60 percent of the snaps last week, Jones fell below 30 percent with Amon-Ra St. Brown back in action. With second-year wideout Jameson Williams' role set to expand as the season unfolds, Jones' playing time could dwindle even further.

Lions' Marvin Jones: Two targets in expanded role
Jones caught both targets for 22 yards during Sunday's 42-24 win over Carolina.
Jones had seen his playing time decrease with every passing week until Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) was forced to miss his first game of the season. Not only did Jones see a bump in playing time in St. Brown's absence, but he ultimately led all Lions wideouts in snaps as well. However, the 33-year-old yet again did little with his opportunities, and Jones now has a grand total of four catches (on nine targets) for 30 yards this season. There's little reason to trust Jones for fantasy purposes entering a Week 6 matchup with Tampa Bay.

Lions' Marvin Jones: Playing time dwindling
Jones was targeted once but did not catch a pass during Thursday's 34-20 win over Green Bay.
After logging over half of the offensive snaps in Week 1, Jones has seen his snap share decline with each passing week. With Josh Reynolds and Kalif Raymond effectively complementing top receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and tight end Sam LaPorta, there's no reason to expect Jones' usage to spike anytime soon. The return of Jameson Williams (suspension) in Week 7 will make it even harder for the veteran wideout to make a dent in the box score.

Lions' Marvin Jones: No targets again
Jones was not targeted with a pass during Sunday's 20-6 win over Atlanta.
While Jones continued to log at least 39 percent of the offensive snaps, he has yet to receive a target since his disappointing performance in Week 1. This time, all 29 of Jared Goff's pass attempts to non-running backs went to Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta and Kalif Raymond. Possibly washed at 33 years old, Jones will look to turn back the clock in Thursday's Week 4 matchup with the Packers.

Lions' Marvin Jones: Blanked by Seattle
Jones was not targeted with a pass during Sunday's 37-31 loss to Seattle.
Jones again logged about half of the offensive snaps despite a poor showing in the season opener. While a significant downturn in usage rate provided no opportunities for him to put up any stats, the 33-year-old veteran didn't do much with the six targets he saw in Week 1 anyway. Next up for Jones is a Week 3 matchup with a talented Falcons secondary.

Lions' Marvin Jones: Forgettable regular-season debut
Jones caught two of six targets for eight yards while losing a fumble during Thursday's 21-20 win over Kansas City.
Putting together one of the more forgettable games of his career, Jones saw plenty of opportunity but was clearly outdone by Josh Reynolds as the top complimentary receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown. The 33-year-old dropped at least one pass that could have led to a possible field-goal try before halftime, and then Jones' first career fumble cost the Lions another likely field-goal attempt in the fourth quarter during crunch time. Even with Jameson Williams suspended for another five games, Jones is hardly on the fantasy radar entering a Week 2 matchup against Seattle.
