Taiwan Jones: Cut from Giants' practice squad
The Giants cut Jones from their practice squad Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Jones was able to find his way onto the field for the Giants as a special teams contributor during the first two weeks of the season, but now he's set to become a free agent. He hasn't handled a regular-season carry since 2019 with Houston.

Taiwan Jones: Moves back to practice squad
Jones reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday.
New York signed Jones to its practice squad Aug. 31 and elevated him for each of the first two weeks of the regular season. The veteran has yet to get any offensive snaps, with all of his work coming on special teams. However, the Giants lost Saquon Barkley to an ankle injury near the end of their Week 2 win over Arizona, so Jones could feasibly see some light work on offense if he's elevated again.

Giants' Taiwan Jones: Back with active roster
Jones was elevated to the Giants' active roster ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Jones will be active for a second game in a row in Week 2 after playing 15 snaps on special teams last week. The 25-year-old will likely operate in a similar role in the Giants' second game while also serving as an extreme depth option behind Saquon Barkleyand others at running back.

Jones saw all of his playing time (15 snaps) come on special teams during New York's loss to Dallas on Sunday. The 35-year-old could be called up again for his special-teams value for the team's Week 2 matchup against the Cardinals.

Jones signed with the Giants' practice squad Aug. 31 after he spent the last three seasons with the Bills. He could see some playing time on special teams for the season opener Sunday against the Cowboys.

Taiwan Jones: Added to New York's practice squad
Jones was picked up by the Giants' practice squad Thursday, Michael Elsen of the team's official site reports.
Jones spent the 2022 season on the Bills, where he played all 304 snaps on special teams. The 2011 fourth-round pick out of Eastern Washington brings plenty of experience and will be a valuable stash for the Giants should they require more special-teams experience on their active roster.

Jones was considered questionable for the contest after logging just one limited practice session this week, but he'll be able to avoid Buffalo's three-man inactive list. His role this year has been almost exclusively on special teams, however, so backfield duties will be left to Devin Singletary and Matt Breida, with Zack Moss being a healthy scratch for the contest.
