Brian Winters: Released by Arizona
The Cardinals released Winters on Saturday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports.
Winters was expected to compete for Arizona's starting right guard spot, but he ended up falling out of the competition after battling an undisclosed injury. The 30-year-old was active for the first two weeks of the season, but he missed Friday's practice due to a personal reason and was ruled out for Week 3. The release comes as a bit of a surprise as the Cardinals' offensive line depth is already growing thin with Kelvin Beachum (ribs) and Joshua Miles (ankle) battling injuries.

Cardinals' Brian Winters: Ruled out for Week 3
Winters (personal) will not be available for the Cardinals during Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Winters has been operating as the primary backup to both guard positions, but he has totaled only 16 total snaps so far this season. With Kelvin Beachum (ribs) questionable, and Winters and Joshua Miles (ankle) out, the Cardinals' offensive line depth is growing thin.

Cardinals' Brian Winters: Back at practice
Winters (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
After a nearly three-week absence, Winters has finally returned to practice. The Cardinals may want to get him some work during the final preseason game Saturday, but they also may elect to bring him back slowly. Winters appeared in all 16 games -- nine starts -- for the Bills last season and will compete with Justin Murray for the starting spot with the Cardinals.

Cardinals' Brian Winters: Out for a couple weeks
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Winters (undisclosed) is out for a couple weeks with "something not too serious," Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
It is unclear what is ailing Winters, but it is encouraging that he hasn't been placed on the preseason PUP list. A multiple-week absence would mean him missing nearly the entire training camp and the majority of the Cardinals' preseason games, which wouldn't be good for the newcomer, who is competing with Justin Murray and Josh Jones for the starting right guard spot. Winters appeared in all 16 games for the Bills last season, drawing nine starts.

Bills' Brian Winters: Cleared for Week 8
Winters (knee) is active for Sunday's game versus the Patriots.
This is good news for the Bills' offensive front because starting left guard Cody Ford (knee) has already been ruled out. The Bills haven't announced who will start in Ford's place, but Winters and Ike Boettger are the top candidates.

Bills' Brian Winters: Questionable for Sunday
Winters (knee) practiced fully Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Winters was limited for both Wednesday's and Thursday's sessions, so we'll assume he's on the better side of questionable. With Cody Ford (knee) already ruled out for the game, it'll be either Winters or Ike Boettger starting at left guard.
