The Jets placed Mosley (neck) on injured reserve Saturday.
Mosley had missed the Jets' last five games due to a herniated disk in his neck. Though he appeared to be making progress after turning in two full practices last week and another one Wednesday, he downgraded to no participation Thursday and Friday. With the Jets unlikely to make the postseason, Mosley will likely end the 2024 season on injured reserve, even though he's eligible to be activated Week 18. Jamien Sherwood should continue to start at middle linebacker in place of Mosley, who could find himself as a cap casualty this offseason.

Head coach Jeff Ulbrich announced Friday that Mosley will be placed on injured reserve due to a herniated disk in his neck, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Mosley had been sidelined for the Jets' last five games due to a neck injury. He appeared to be on track to play against the Dolphins on Sunday after logging a full practice Wednesday, but he was unable to see the field Thursday. With just five games left in the 2024 regular season and the Jets unlikely to make the playoffs at 3-9, Mosley's move to IR will effectively end his campaign. Jamien Sherwood will continue to start at middle linebacker in Mosley's absence.

Mosley (neck) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Mosley has been sidelined for the Jets' last five games due to a neck injury, however, Wednesday's full practice session suggests he's now fully recovered from the issue. Expect the 10th-year pro to return for the Jets' Week 14 matchup in Miami, serving as the team's top inside linebacker.

Mosley (neck) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
Mosley, who missed the four games prior to New York's Week 12 bye with the injury, was hoping to play in Week 13 after practicing in full Wednesday and Thursday, but he collided with running back Braelon Allen on a short-yardage play during a padded session Thursday and felt residual soreness, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Cimini added that Mosley wants to err on the side of caution and sit at least another week. The starting middle linebacker has 17 tackles (13 solo) in the four games he has played this season.

While Mosley was listed as a full practice participant Wednesday and Thursday, he downgraded to limited activity Friday before taking a designation into the weekend. Though it's possible that his activity was limited Friday as a matter of caution, Mosley had missed each of the Jets' last four games before the team's Week 12 bye due to the neck issue. As such, the Jets may have preferred for Mosley to be a full practice participant throughout the week before clearing him for game action, though the door isn't closed on him suiting up Sunday. Mosley will not practice Wednesday after undergoing a couple of procedures to loosen up his neck, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Mosley had claimed to be dealing with a stinger and was suffering with his range of motion. The procedures done were meant to help with that, according to head coach Jeff Ulbrich, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Although the procedures have helped, according to Ulbrich, Mosely will not suit up until the full range of motion has returned, which could still be another couple of weeks.
