The 24-year-old was unable to find work before receiving another four-game suspension from the league in December for an undisclosed reason. Shortly after Collins completed his 10-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, the Falcons parted ways with the 24-year-old cornerback, who had previously been suspended four games in 2016 for the same reason. It's unclear if this latest transgression is related to PEDs, but it at least helps explain why no teams have seriously pursued signing Collins since he was released by Atlanta. If Collins can avoid further NFL discipline during the offseason, he could end up resurfacing somewhere in the league in 2018.

Collins completed his 10-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy following Monday's win over the Seahawks, but it appears the Falcons weren't eager to welcome the third-year cornerback back into the fold. The 24-year-old, a second-round pick out of LSU in 2015, flashed coverage skills in the Falcons' run to the Super Bowl last season, but off-field transgressions have hindered his development. Based on his pedigree and talent alone, it's expected that Collins will generate plenty of interest from other teams upon hitting the waiver wire.

Falcons' Jalen Collins: To see less snaps going forward
Head coach Dan Quinn indicated Saturday that Collins (suspension) is likely to see less time on the field during the team's next exhibition game, Vaughn McClure of ESPN reports.
Collins played 31 snaps on defense and four on special teams during the Falcons' preseason-opening loss to the Dolphins. He will be suspended the first 10 games of the regular season after violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy, so the Falcons likely want to get others involved who will be playing right away. Although Collins started opposite Robert Alford in February's Super Bowl, Quinn stated that he remains undecided about the 2015 second-round pick's future on the 53-man roster.
