Robbie Chosen: Re-signs with Washington
The Commanders signed Chosen to the practice squad Tuesday.
After being signed to the active roster Nov. 11, Chosen was waived Nov. 28 likely due to the renewed availability of starting wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Treylon Burks. The wide receiver was re-signed to the practice squad as a depth option. The veteran has one practice squad elevation remaining for the Commanders this year, a move the team might enact this week if Noah Brown (groin/knee) is not yet ready to return from IR.

Robbie Chosen: Cut by Washington
The Commanders waived Chosen on Friday, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
With all three of Treylon Burks (finger), Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Noah Brown (groin/knee) nearing 100 percent health, Chosen is the odd man out at wide receiver in Washington. The 32-year-old wideout has appeared in three games this season, registering a 5-53-0 receiving line on nine targets.

Chosen reverted to the Commanders' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Chosen played 15 of 54 offensive snaps during the Commanders' 44-22 loss to the Lions on Sunday, when he caught one pass on four targets for 17 yards. Chosen was elevated to the Commanders' active roster for their Week 7 clash against the Cowboys, when he caught all four of his targets for 36 yards while playing 33 of 67 offensive snaps. However, his services are no longer needed as Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel (heel) have both been cleared to return from their respective injuries and play in Monday's road game against the Chiefs. Given Chosen's play in Week 7, the veteran wide receiver should garner interest from teams looking for pass-catching depth on the active roster or practice squad.

Chosen got his first chance of the season to suit up in this past Sunday's 44-22 loss to Dallas and played 33 of 67 offensive snaps, placing him fourth among Commanders wideouts. He caught all four of his targets for 36 yards, with the reception total leading all Washington players. Chosen's opportunity came as a result of Washington's wideout corps being depleted by injuries -- each of Terry McLaurin (quadriceps), Deebo Samuel (heel) and Noah Brown (groin) were unable to play. Chosen's path to further opportunities likely depends on when the team's injured wideouts are able to return.

Chosen started the season on the 49ers' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He was cut by the 49ers in early September, but the veteran wideout will get another opportunity with the Commanders, who are dealing with injuries to Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Noah Brown (groin). Chosen appeared in two regular-season games for the Dolphins in 2024 and finished with one catch on four targets for five yards.

Chosen didn't make the 53-man roster, but the veteran wide receiver is a candidate for an early-season promotion, depending on the availability of San Francisco's various injured wideouts. The speedster's regular-season totals in receiving yards have dropped every subsequent season since he had a career-high 1,096 with the Panthers in 2020, down to 519 in 2021, 282 in 2022, 126 in 2023 and five yards in 2024.
