McDermott (undisclosed) had a tryout with Houston on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

  • Rams' Conor McDermott: Opening season on IR

McDermott (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Rams on Wednesday.

  • Rams' Conor McDermott: Inks with Rams

McDermott (head) signed a contract with Los Angeles on Tuesday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

McDermott was cut by the Patriots back in April after having started five games at left tackle for the team in 2023. He now joins a Rams team in serious need of depth, given that starting tackles Alaric Jackson (ankle) and Rob Havenstein (foot) are both currently banged up.

  • Conor McDermott: Cut by Pats

New England released McDermott (head) on Monday.

McDermott started five games at left tackle for the Patriots in 2023, but after adding Chukwuma Okorafor in free agency, New England has opted to let go of McDermott, who presumably is past the head injury that landed him on IR late last season, given that he was cut without an injury designation. He'll now have to look for another opportunity with a new team.

The Patriots placed McDermott (head) on injured reserve Friday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.coms reports.

The veteran lineman started five of the previous six games for New England, but his season is now over after he played 228 offensive snaps for the Patriots. McDermott has appeared in 55 career contests, making 17 starts.

  • Patriots' Conor McDermott: Joins Pats' active roster

The Patriots signed McDermott off the practice squad Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

The move corresponds with New England waiving quarterback Will Grier. McDermott joined the Patriots' practice squad Oct. 17 after reaching an injury settlement with the team Sept. 8. With offensive tackles Calvin Anderson (illness) and Tyrone Wheatley (knee) both on IR, McDermott will provide depth behind Mike Onwenu and Trent Brown.
