Joe Schobert: Headed to waivers
Tennessee waived Schobert on Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Less than a month after joining the active roster from the practice squad, Schobert has been shown the door by the Titans. If he isn't claimed by another team during the current waiver period, the 29-year-old linebacker will become an unrestricted free agent.

Titans' Joe Schobert: Sitting out Sunday
Schobert (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Bengals, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Schobert was signed to the team's active roster from their practice squad Nov. 15. After suiting up Week 11 against the Packers, the veteran linebacker will be a healthy scratch against Cincinnati.

Titans' Joe Schobert: Joins active roster
Schobert was signed to Tennessee's 53-man roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Schobert has already been elevated from the team's practice squad three times his season, recording nine tackles (six solo) and forcing a fumble. With Zach Cunningham (elbow) going on IR and David Long (neck) questionable for Thursday against the Packers, the Titans were in need of more depth at inside linebacker.

Joe Schobert: Back to practice squad
Schobert reverted to the Titans' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Schobert received another bump up from the practice squad Sunday against the Colts, as Zach Cunningham was inactive once again due to an elbow injury. Schobert played 12 snaps on defense and four on special teams while recording a total of three tackles. The veteran linebacker could receive another opportunity with the active roster if Cunningham is out again Sunday against the Texans.

Titans' Joe Schobert: Elevated from practice squad again
Schobert was elevated from Tennessee's practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's Week 7 home game against the Colts, John Glennon of SI.com reports.
Schobert was also elevated to the 53-man roster in Weeks 4 and 5 before the Titans' Week 6 bye. He's played 31 defensive snaps this season, recording six tackles and forcing one fumble.

Schobert saw 10 snaps on defense in the Week 5 win over the Commanders, but he failed to leave a mark on the stat sheet. It was his second straight elevation with Zach Cunningham (elbow) out again. Depending on Cunningham's status for Week 6, Schobert could receive another bump up to the active roster.

Schobert reverted to the Titans' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Schobert recorded six tackles and one forced fumble after being activated from Tennessee's practice squad for the first time this season. With fellow inside linebacker Zach Cunningham (elbow) inactive in Week 4, the 28-year-old veteran played 24 of the Titans' 66 defensive snaps behind David Long (66) and Dylan Cole (38). Schobert did not record a tackle while also playing four special-teams snaps, and he will now be eligible for two more elevations from Tennessee's practice squad this season.

Joe Schobert: Inks practice squad deal
The Titans signed Schobert to their practice squad Tuesday.
Schobert was last released by the Broncos in August, but he'll now have another shot in the NFL with Tennessee after he signed with the team's practice squad. In six years as a pro, the 240-pound linebacker recorded 661 tackles, 11 sacks, 30 passes defensed, 10 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in that stretch.

Schobert signed with the Broncos after news that Jonas Griffith (elbow) would be sidelined for at least a month. However, after just a week, the veteran linebacker once again finds himself as a free agent. Schobert registered at least 100 tackles and one interception in five straight seasons, but he didn't garner major attention in free agency this offseason.

Broncos' Joe Schobert: Inks deal with Denver
Schobert signed a contract with the Broncos on Monday, Troy Renck of ABC Denver reports.
Schobert recently impressed during a workout for the Broncos, and after news that Jonas Griffith (elbow) would be sidelined for at least a month, Denver opted to sign the veteran linebacker. In Griffith's absence, Alex Singleton is expected to step into a starting role next to Josey Jewell, while Schobet and Justin Strnad compete for the top backup spot. Schobert has registered at least 100 tackles and one interception in five straight seasons, but he didn't garner major attention in free agency this offseason.

Joe Schobert: Visiting Saints
Schobert is set for a visit with the Saints, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Schobert was released by the Steelers in March after registering 112 tackles in 2021, but he will now meet with the Saints as a free agent. The linebacker was a Pro Bowler in 2017 and would likely slot in with fellow veteran Demario Davis at inside linebacker if he strikes a deal with New Orleans.
