Thomas was waived by the Lions on Saturday, WXYZ Detroit reports.
Thomas originally signed with the Lions as an undrafted rookie out of UConn back in May. However, he would've needed to be significantly impressive on special teams in order to survive final cuts. He's a candidate for the practice squad, though.
